Shady Grove Design Co.

The Shady Grove Design Company started in 2002 as the Shady Grove Decal Co., which grew out of a personal model building project. As a modeler of the Virginia & Truckee Railroad, I was not satisfied with the decals available on the market and began work on my own. Soon after I began receiving requests for custom work. The first true retail product was the decal sets for Deerfield Laser Company’s On3 Carter Brothers Boxcar kit in 2004. Unforeseen circumstances put an end to regular decal production in 2006.

With the return of Shady Grove I decided to change the name from Shady Grove Decal Co. to the Shady Grove Design Company. Beyond decals I regularly design work for historical societies, fliers and accurate color illustrations of historic equipment. Prints of my illustrations and other designs will be available in the future.

Here at Shady Grove, we strive for excellence. Our decals are vector drawn using photographs and/or measurements taken directly from historic equipment as a guide. As new information comes to line I continue to revise artwork when necessary to ensure I am selling an accurate product. Our decals are printed with an Alps printer on high quality decal paper from Tango Papa.
